Dear Wolf

Jillian Turner is exactly as her name suggests. She turns, and she is the youngest in a family of wolf shifters. She has found it difficult to embrace what her family refers to as their gift. To her, it has been a curse. From an early age, she’s kept her inner wolf deep down inside. After the loss of their parents, she and her brothers perceive the wolf differently. Jillian feels it to be as misunderstood as she. She also has a love of deer and believes it to be her animal spirit guide, which only contributes to shredding the family further apart. More like the woodland creature, a loner and a dreamer, Jillian begins to hide in the shadows and, in doing so, has learned to manipulate both the light and shade to her own needs.

Jack Malone was raised in the shadow of an abusive father. After an accident that killed both his mother and his younger sister, things became more violent and occurrences more frequent. Planning to move out of his childhood home right after graduation, he makes a last trip with his two best friends to the mountainous region of North Carolina. It is there that they plan to relax and be one with nature. And it is there that things go terribly wrong. They become one with nature. However, for one, it is much more than they bargained for.

When Jillian meets Jack ten years later, each has been harboring feelings and secrets. However, each will have to come to terms with the other’s past, as well as their own, if they are to ever survive in the life they hope to make for themselves.

Can they accept the mistakes that have been made, or will one, or both, retreat back into the shadows?

“We all have something inside us we are fighting. Some have the primitive beast while some are just beasts without it.”

                                 ~ Jillian Turner.

SAGED

Dana Lock is an unassuming young woman, who is more comfortable in a lab working with data and mixing test tubes than she is mixing with others. She works diligently behind the scenes of her shifter community’s research and affairs department as she quietly assists those of her kind. Miss Lock is a wolf shifter. Never before has Dana considered, or felt a pull, to coexist with humans, until now. She knows everything’s about to change, and her life will begin to shift, when her long-time friend Jillian Turner weds Jack Malone, and, at their reception, she meets Chris Alden. She is drawn to Chris and his analytical mind and deliberate approach.

Chris Alden holds the belief that the earth provides most of we need and nature can heal and ground one’s spirit. His knowledge of the sage herb has helped soothe and release negativity when his friend Jack was inflicted a decade ago and became a shape shifter. Seeing the complications of Jack’s existence following this, Chris wishes to avoid tangling with shifters himself. That is until he becomes smitten with Dana Lock. Conflicted, Chris is unable to justify his attraction to her, and he sees avoidance as his only viable option—unless he decides to take the bite. Never one to act on lust alone, he pushes Dana away.

Despite his best effort, though, he and Dana are thrown together when, as a detective of the Canadie K-9, he investigates a family of murdered shifters and finds himself torn between what he feels he needs and what he wants. It is now up to Dana to find a way to help Chris resolve his inner conflict if she hopes to take claim to him. It is up to her to coax him out of that shell long enough to slide into his heart.

Will Dana be able to convince Chris there are numerous advantages to life as a shifter, in life as a wolf? Or is she willing to lope away herself and create her own destiny elsewhere?

“We don’t always do, or want, what we need. But we will often do what we want. So if it’s not what you want, you’ll never be completely happy or satisfied.”

                                    ~ Dana Lock

TRACKING SPREE

Shape-shifter Nicole Stevens is a beautiful and carefree spirit who works as a smokechaser. Active and independent, Nicole has always embraced the magic of life. However, she has no desire, at this time, to make claim to a mate. She wants to avoid the complications that can come from mating anyone, let alone possibly mating with a human. Nicole remains too aware that things do not always work out as one expects.

Dave Hemmings was the third recruit for the startup of a specialized team known as the Harbor Pack. Though a man of boyish charm, he carries the look of wise meets mischievous. His code Spree fit him to a tee because, as his friend and partner Jack Malone says, “He has his hands in everything. He wants to do it all. Be a musician, actor, comedian, party planner.”

Now ten years later, Dave’s two best friends and partners have been claimed by their destined mates, and Dave has no doubt what he wants. Dave wants to be a shape-shifter and he knows the woman who can turn it. Unfortunately, Nicole Stevens has different ideas.

Things have always come easy to Dave, so as a man of action in all avenues of his life, he finds it difficult to sit idle. He has never had to rely on another to shape his dreams. Now he’s forced to wait for what he wants most: his wolf.

“Soon the vines and berries can break through and flourish. They’ll be nothing to hold them back. Funny what a little flame can do, isn’t it?”

~ Nicole Stevens
